Vancouver Yankees quit the league

The Vancouver Yankees have let the league office know that they would be quitting the league effective immediately. Their team captain Josh Burckhardt was upset about a forfeit being ruled against his team from the week one rainout against the Laurelhurst Pirates.
During the preseason meeting, which Burckhardt attended, there was an agreement that make-up games have to be scheduled for in a two week period. The home team is always responsible for the scheduling. Burckhardt failed to schedule a game and the co-commissioners Jim Hewey and Dan Hurley ruled that the game was a forfeit.
It was about a week later that Burckhardt informed Jim Hewey and Nate Bullock of the Yankees leaving the league.
