Dan Sefner, 2011 CCWA Player of the Year

the Man, the Myth, the Legend
Last year's choice for Player of the Year was one of the toughest ones we've ever had here in the CCWA.  It basically came down to two teammates who helped lead their team, the Eastside Expos, to their second championship in three seasons.  When it was all said and done Dan "Bookem" Sefner edged out Omar "el Dominicano" Steinberg in a close vote.  Sefner got the nod for being the Spos Ace and dominating from the mound.

Last year Sefner posted a 9-4 record with 2 saves and a miniscule 0.97 ERA.  He struck out 194 batters in 80 innings while only walking 52.  What makes that 9-4 record even more impressive is that he pitched against the best pitchers from every team the Spos faced off against.  Every pitcher in this league wants to beat Sefner, who has become the most dominant pitcher in league history.  He also batted extremely well this past season batting .257 with 9 homeruns and 38 RBIs.  All in all he had an amazing season.

It'll be interesting to see if Sefner can lead his Expos to another title and become the first team to ever repeat.  Good luck Bookem!
